Brief History: Fuquay-Varina has a rich history dating back to when Fuquay and Varina were two separate municipalities. Fuquay was named after William Fuquay, who was a French veteran of the revolutionary war, and Varina was named after a soldier's wife who used to sign letters with the pen name of Varina during the Civil War. In 1963, the two towns merged to become one, and Fuquay-Varina has continued to grow since then. Fuquay-Varina preserves its history with several historic sites and attractions that pay homage to its past, telling the story of the town.
Area Info: Fuquay-Varina is located approximately 35 minutes south of Raleigh. The town hosts several events throughout the year, including the Independence Day Celebration, the Celebrate Fuquay-Varina Festival, and the Follow Me to Fuquay-Varina Concert Series. Fuquay-Varina has become a popular town to settle down in outside of the larger cities and has seen a significant increase in its population alongside the growth of the Research Triangle.

Fuquay-Varina is also very close to the Wake Technical Community College in Cary and several universities throughout the Research Triangle nearby.
