Demographics: The breakdown of racial and ethnic groups are: White (73.35%); Black or African American (8.52%); Hispanic or Latino (7.01%). The median age for residents is 35.8. According to the 2020 US Census, the median household income was $120,229. 

Brief History: Holly Springs was first settled in the early 1800s and received its name from a freshwater spring that was surrounded by holly trees. The community of Holly Springs heavily felt the impact of the Civil War and even had Union troops who camped in the Leslie-Afford-Mims House, which is still standing today. In the 20th century, Holly Springs experienced a period of growth and prosperity, boosted by the expansion of the nearby Research Triangle Park. 

Area Info: Holly Springs is a suburb of the capital city of Raleigh and is only a 20-minute drive away. The city is made up of multiple neighborhoods, unique in their own ways. Residents can enjoy easy access to major highways connecting them to other cities and states nearby.

Amenities: Holly Springs offers a variety of shopping and dining options. The town's charming downtown area features a mix of locally-owned shops and restaurants, including The Block on Main and Town Hall Commons, both mixed-use buildings with shops and restaurants. Additionally, the Holly Springs Towne Center is home to more than 50 retailers and restaurants. The town is also well known for its popular Holly Springs Farmers Market which occurs year-round and at times has special events, such as food truck rodeos.

Parks and Recreation: The Holly Springs Parks & Recreation Department manages five main parks and multiple greenways within the city. Within these parks includes a lake, multiple picnic shelters, multiple athletic fields and courts, playgrounds, greenspaces, and more. Ting Park even includes a multi-sport stadium, soccer complex, and tennis complex. The department also manages a recreation center and the Holly Springs Cultural Center which provide multiple programs and events for the community all year round. 

Public Transportation: The City of Holly Springs is a part of the GoTriangle bus routes that connect the city to downtown Raleigh and the surrounding areas. 

Education: Schools within Holly Springs are managed by the Wake County Public School System. There are currently four elementary schools, two middle schools, and one high school within Holly Spring. There are also four private schools/preschools in the community as well. The city is also very close to many of the country's top universities located in the Research Triangle.
